SIG Scholarships now available
Three $1000 scholarship awards are now available to Special Interest Groups (SIGs) which support local health care organizations and programs promoting healthcare information technology industry education and professional development. Welcome to the Northern California Chapter of the Healthcare Information Management Systems Society (HIMSS).

The Northern California Chapter (NoCal HIMSS) is dedicated to the development of healthcare information technology professionals in Northern California. We serve 1,000+ members, as well as the Northern California healthcare community at large. We bring health care professionals together to promote the exchange of experiences and knowledge among colleagues, and to assist members in their professional growth. NoCal HIMSS accomplishes our objectives by:

  • Presenting educational seminars and conferences
  • Offering networking opportunities
  • Providing a forum for the exchange of ideas focused on improving patient care through the use of information technology

Now accepting applications for the Northern California Chapter Scholarship
The Northern California Chapter of HIMSS is pleased to provide an annual scholarship for a student of healthcare informatics. The scholarship will be awarded to student members attending school in the Northern California area who exhibit academic excellence and future leadership potential in the healthcare information and management systems industry. Student members of the Northern California Chapter are all encouraged to apply for the scholarship. The deadline for applications is October 31, 2010.

The amount of the scholarship is $5,000 and is given annually. In addition, the winner will also receive an all-expense paid trip to the Annual HIMSS Conference and Exhibition. (Some restrictions may apply.) Recipients are appointed to the Student Liaison role on the Chapter Board. Click here for further information on the criteria and to apply.

Congratulations to Martha Dameron & Thelma Kay-Weiss – Northern California's Chapter Advocacy Liaisons for achieving Presidential level recognition for advocacy efforts! Click here to view all the recognitions. HIMSS congratulates all of the chapters that are participating in the Chapter Advocacy Liaison Recognition (CALR) Program. The program helps HIMSS coordinate an effective, sophisticated grassroots advocacy effort across the country.
